Livestock Watering

Home

Stream fencing, stone lined stream crossings, and watering systems in pasture fields enable livestock farmers and landowners to improve and protect the water quality in their region.

By providing water out in pasture fields, animals will be able to better graze the entire area. Reducing the need for animals to have direct access to streams, ponds, springs, and wetlands helps remove the nonpoint source pollution caused by the farm animals.  Funding provided through a generous PA DEP Growing Greener Grant and through Section 319 of the Federal Clean Water Act administered by the US Environmental Protection Agency.  Conservation improves:  Herd health, Grazing management, Forage management, Manure handling, Water quality, Wildlife habitat, Streambank protection and promotes a Positive Agricultural Image!
